Jun IWAMATSU, Dr. Eng.
Profile Summary
He was born in 1962, in Shizuoka-Prefecture of Japan. His educational back ground is as follows: In 1985, he graduated the under graduate course of Dept. of Architecture and Architectural Engineering, Kyoto University, and he graduated the master course of the department in 1987. Then he started his work experience in a general contractor (GC) in Tokyo (1987 - 2006). In that period, he has got a certificate license of qualified architect and building engineer of the Minister of Construction (1st class gKenchikushih) in 1989, and he was rent out to a government related think-tank (National Institute for Research Advancement: NIRA) for two years. His post in the GC had been mainly in the social field research in the construction industry and the architectural production. He also has been a full member of Architectural Institute of Japan (AIJ) for decades, and he has been belonging to the subcommittee on cost management, and the subcommittee on construction labour. In April 2005, he got doctoral degree of engineering at Tokyo University. His doctoral thesis is titled: gAn Industrial Organizational Research of Japanese Construction Industryh. In April, 2006, he got a position of senior researcher at Research Institute on Building Cost (RIBC). RIBC is a semi-governmental research institution. And also he has became part-time lecturer of Building Economics in both Kogakuin University (Tokyo, from 2006), and Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo, from 2008).
